Collaboration between Pesantren and Islamic Higher Education Institutions: A Sustainable Partnership Management Model

Abstract

Collaboration between Pesantren and Islamic Higher Education Institutions is a strategic step in developing quality education that is relevant to societal needs. In this context, it is important to understand how these two institutions can complement each other and contribute to improving educational quality. Pesantren, as traditional educational institutions, possess rich moral and spiritual values that are highly important. On the other hand, Islamic higher education institutions bring a more modern and systematic academic approach. Through a library research method, this study collected data from various sources to analyze best practices and challenges encountered in such collaborations. For example, collaborative programs in the form of student exchanges or joint curriculum development can create beneficial synergies. However, challenges such as differences in management systems and educational visions often arise. The results of the study indicate that this collaboration not only improves the quality of education but also strengthens the social role of pesantren within society. By integrating the strengths of each institution, this collaboration can create a more inclusive and adaptive educational model in response to changing times. In conclusion, collaboration between pesantren and Islamic higher education institutions is beneficial not only for the institutions themselves but also provides broader positive impacts on society.
