Management of the Implementation of the Online Business and Marketing Expertise Program in Developing Students’ Entrepreneurial Independence
Abstract
The Online Business and Marketing expertise program is one of the vocational competencies at the Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) level that aims to prepare young generations to possess strong entrepreneurial character and the ability to think creatively and innovatively in facing global economic challenges. Students are encouraged to create products needed by society, identify business opportunities accurately, and market products effectively in order to attract consumers. This program requires careful planning, implementation, evaluation, and support from relevant entrepreneurial practices. This study aims to determine the planning, implementation, and obstacles encountered in the implementation of the Online Business and Marketing expertise program in shaping the entrepreneurial character of twelfth-grade students at SMK PGRI Sumber Agung. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included the principal, head of the expertise program, productive subject teachers, and twelfth-grade students. The results show that: (1) the Online Business and Marketing expertise program actively contributes to developing students’ entrepreneurial character through structured and applicable learning activities; (2) program planning has been comprehensively designed, covering program aspects, strategies, and policies that support entrepreneurial character development; (3) program implementation is carried out through entrepreneurship learning materials, comparative studies with business sectors, and direct entrepreneurial practices; and (4) the obstacles encountered include limited learning facilities and students’ personal problems, which are addressed through improving infrastructure and providing motivation and appreciation to enhance students’ entrepreneurial spirit.
